As founder and CEO of one of Canada’s largest independently owned investment firms, Wellington West Capital Inc., Charlie has continuously demonstrated his expertise in the area of financial investments and capital market development. Prior to forming Wellington West, Charlie was a Senior Vice President and Director of Midland Walwyn Capital Inc., Canada’s largest independently owned retail investment firm. During his 13-year tenure with Midland Walwyn, Charlie consistently ranked as the firm’s top annual producer of the close to 1,000 financial advisors employed nationwide.

Founded in 1993 by a core group of experienced individuals, Wellington has grown exponentially and now represents over 50,000 clients accounts and manages nearly $9 billion in assets under administration. Since inception, Wellington West, under the leadership role of Charlie, has completed corporate finance issues well in excess of $3.5 billion. Charlie has also been recognized for his achievements beyond the scope of the Manitoba border and was chosen as one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 in 1996.

As a company, Wellington is currently among the country’s 50 Best Managed Private Companies for six consecutive years according to the National Post and has retained its first-place position on investment industry publication Investment Executive’s Brokerage Report Card for the fourth year in a row. To add to the list of accolades, Report on Business Magazine ranked Wellington first on its annual list of the 50 Best Employers in Canada in 2007, moving up from its second place position.

Charlie has been very active in numerous philanthropic activities around the country but with a very definite bias for Manitoba. Charlie has recently joined the board of the Investment Industry Association of Canada as well.
